Key Role: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Overview
This is a senior engineering role within our mechanical design department, responsible for leading the design and development of complex heavy-duty mechanical assemblies.
The successful candidate will be experienced in the use of SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models, drawings, and full design packages, as well as performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate structural integrity and performance.
* Design and oversee the manufacture of HGV hauling trailers, crane systems, and other heavy-duty equipment
* Collaborate with production, procurement, and operations teams to ensure smooth project delivery
* Manage project costs and ensure all required parts and materials are available ahead of production
* Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency throughout the design and manufacturing cycle
* Generate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure documentation accuracy
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you should have:
* Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably with a focus on heavy-duty equipment
* Expertise in SolidWorks, including the creation of detailed 3D models, drawings, and full design packages
* Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software and methodologies
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
