We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance and Technical Management expert to lead our quality assurance and technical teams.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality certifications, leading internal and external audits, developing and implementing Health and Safety policies and procedures, training staff on food safety procedures, and responding to food safety alerts and emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage QA & Technical teams to ensure product packaged and distributed legally and compliant.
* Ensure the company maintains grade AA BRC accreditation, Organic Trust, Global Gap Supply Chain certification and Fairtrade Standards.
* Prepare for and lead external audits, including those by HSE, DAFM, BRCGS regarding food safety, authenticity, and health issues.
* Work with suppliers to ensure compliance with legislative, customer and BRCGS requirements.
* Develop and implement Health and Safety (H&S) policies and procedures.
* Participate in risk assessments, accident investigations, and the provision of safety training to site personnel.
* Oversee the development, implementation, and management of HACCP systems and ensure the documentation is up to date.
* Train and mentor staff on food safety procedures, including HACCP, food hygiene, and labelling.
* Respond to food safety alerts and emergencies, ensuring that risks are assessed, mitigated, and reported appropriately.
Requirements:
* 7+ years experience in Quality Assurance Management, preferably in a similar fresh produce industry or food manufacturing environment.
* Proven track record of ensuring compliance with relevant food safety regulations, industry standards, and quality certifications (e.g., HACCP, BRC).
* Experience in conducting internal and external audits to assess and maintain quality standards.
* Demonstrated success in leading and developing a team of quality assurance professionals.
* Experience in motivating and empowering team members to achieve departmental objectives.
* Experience in collaborating with suppliers to ensure quality compliance, managing supplier performance, and driving continuous improvement in the supply chain.
