Job Title: Cost Engineer
This permanent role involves evaluating and interpreting project contract documentation, planning and examining supplier and sub-contractor enquiries, and providing precise valuations in a timely manner.
Key responsibilities include:
* Evaluating and interpreting project contract documentation to ensure accurate and compliant delivery.
* Planning and examining supplier and sub-contractor enquiries to ensure optimal pricing and scheduling.
* Providing precise, competitive, and cost-effective valuations in a timely manner to support informed business decisions.
* Preparing and distributing contract documents to our supply chain to facilitate smooth operations.
* Examining changes in our scope of work and completing pricing variations to ensure seamless project execution.
* Preparing and agreeing monthly progress claims to maintain transparency and accountability.
* Maintaining accurate records of claims prepared, certificates issued, and retentions involved to ensure efficient and compliant processes.
* Commercial and contractual control of sub-contractor accounts to optimize financial performance.
* Preparing and delivering monthly commercial project reports to stakeholders for strategic decision-making.
* Providing information and analysis of issues & risks as required by Management to drive proactive mitigation strategies.
* Management and forecasting of project cash flow to ensure liquidity and operational efficiency.
* Ensuring all other duties associated with this role are carried out with the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A relevant qualification in Cost Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction, or equivalent.
* 3+ years of electrical experience in a Cost Engineer / Estimator role.
* A comprehensive understanding of work contracts to ensure accurate and compliant delivery.
* Ability to negotiate with clients on a professional level to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
* Proficient with full Microsoft package, including Excel, MS Teams, and MS Projects, to streamline workflows and enhance collaboration.
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail to maintain data integrity and minimize errors.
* A working knowledge of Electrical Tenders would be a distinctive advantage to drive innovation and growth.
