Overview:
Under the direction of the Restaurant Manager the Deli Assistant / Barista prepares food, coffee and other hot drinks at the bar, using the Italian style coffee machine. Providing excellent customer service and taking payment.
Responsibilities:
* Make coffee, cappuccino, tea, hot chocolate and other hot and cold drinks typically prepared in an Italian coffee bar.
* Prepare and serve food in hygienic manner while adhering to Company preparation methods and standards.
* Provide efficient and friendly services, whilst serving all beverages and food in accordance with customer requirements, restaurant standards and Irish licensing laws.
* Stock up the bar to prepare for service.
* Collect payments and manage the POS.
* Keep the bar clean and well stocked, wash glasses, empty ashtrays, store empty bottles, clear and clean tables regularly.
* Operate in a HACCP compliant manner.
* Clear down after service and keep the work area clean and tidy.
* Assist in the preparation and heating of high quality food.
* Ensure and enforce high standards of food presentation.
* Liaise with the restaurant manager to place orders for supplies.
* Daily temperature testing for both raw, frozen and cooked foods and the maintenance of this for inspection.
* Ensure that stock is stored properly according to the inventory and HACCP compliancy.
* Managing stock controls, portion controls, quality control and consistency, waste.
* Work with the restaurant manager to meet additional requirements as business demands.
* Provide training as required.
* Additional duties as required, to comply with any reasonable request by the Head Chef, supervisor or management/proprietors.
Qualifications:
* Knowledge of HACCP requirements and possess a HACCP certificate.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety rules and procedures.
* Ability to establish priorities, and to proceed with objectives.
* Should be focused on a high standard of customer service.
