Who we want:
We are seeking a passionate and driven Senior Engineer to join our Neurosurgical team. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of advanced medical technology and work on patient-impacting technology.
What you will do:
1. Technical Responsibilities:
o Under minimal supervision, research, design, develop, modify, and verify components/modules for medical devices.
o Translate design inputs to engineering specifications and produce sub-system level designs.
o Develop and analyze solutions, prototyping one or more options to provide proof of concept.
o Apply fundamental and some advanced concepts, practices, and procedures for problem solving.
2. Business Responsibilities:
o Demonstrate advanced understanding of customer needs and design inputs.
o Demonstrate proficiency with product’s intended use and clinical procedures.
o Learn how the financial models are constructed.
3. Med Device Compliance:
o Follow fundamental industry standards, design requirements, and test strategies which apply to regulatory requirements.
o Independently create or refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History file.
o Follow R&D procedures like design controls and risk management, per the Quality Management System.
4. General Responsibilities:
o Work with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to ensure project success, with minimal supervision.
o Quickly process and assimilate procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology required.
o Work on complex problems, applying advanced experience and learnings.
o Demonstrate ownership and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
o Collaborate effectively as a key member of the team, building strong relationships.
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
* Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or BioMedical Engineering, with 2+ years of work experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Strongly desired):
Technical Skills:
* Working knowledge of mechanical engineering practices and design principles.
* Ability to create engineering drawings and models, applying GD&T and CAE tools.
* Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes related to product design.
* Effective communication of technical information and plans to team members.
