The Rose Hotel is a welcoming 4-star hotel located in Tralee, Co. Kerry. Since our rebrand in 2016, we have continued to grow from strength to strength, and we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
We are now inviting applications for an experienced and motivated Duty Manager to join our Management Team.
We have 161 well appointed bedrooms, 2 restaurants, bar, function room, 4 meeting rooms, Spa and Gym.
About the Role
As Duty Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all departments throughout the hotel.
You will support the management team, lead by example, and help maintain the high standards of service and hospitality for which The Rose Hotel is known.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
* Oversee daily hotel operations during Duty Management shifts, ensuring consistent delivery of quality and service standards.
* Support and collaborate with all members of the management team.
* Ensure smooth running of bar, restaurant, and food service across mornings, lunch, afternoon, and evening shifts.
* Provide warm, professional, and proactive guest service, anticipating needs and resolving issues promptly.
* Assist colleagues as required and be flexible in response to business and guest needs.
* Work closely with the Sales & Events Coordinator to ensure meeting rooms are set up accurately to specifications.
* Maintain effective communication throughout each shift and attend relevant hotel meetings.
* Support personnel and training functions within the hotel.
* Assist in training and onboarding new staff across bar, restaurant, and banqueting departments.
* Ensure security of the hotel, stock, and keys while on duty.
* Undertake supervisory responsibilities in specific departments as required.
* Assist the Operations Manager with Health & Safety and Fire Safety compliance, including risk assessments.
* Identify and report maintenance issues or hazards promptly.
* Act as the point of contact for emergency situations during your shift, following established procedures.
* Carry out additional tasks, projects, and training as assigned by senior management.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Previous hotel management experience in a medium to large hotel is essential.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong passion for hospitality and guest service.
* Solid background in Food & Beverage, with understanding of service standards.
* Experience with weddings or large events is an advantage.
* Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate and support a team.
* Proactive approach to upselling hotel services and amenities.
* Flexibility to work early/late shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
