A rare opportunity to help build a brand-new therapeutic service for children and young people in one of Ireland's most supportive and scenic regions.
Our client is establishing its
first multi-disciplinary Therapeutic Team in Kerry
, and is seeking a
Senior Clinical Psychologist
to play a central role in developing and delivering high-quality, trauma-informed psychological care for children and young people in
residential care, foster care, and the wider community
.
In this role, you will work closely with Social Workers, Social Care Workers, Domestic Violence Practitioners, and Family Support Workers, providing both direct therapeutic interventions and indirect support across the care network.
This is a significant professional opportunity to shape a service from the ground up.

€95,616 – €112,390
salary (with LSI progression)

Key responsibilities:
• Deliver specialist psychological assessments & interventions for children and young people in care.
• Provide consultation, guidance & support to carers and multi-disciplinary colleagues
• Participate in statutory care planning and Child in Care reviews
• Lead trauma-informed, developmentally attuned therapeutic approaches
• Contribute to service audit, evaluation, and research initiatives
• Provide supervision and input into training for MDT teams
• Work collaboratively with CAMHS, Primary Care, Disability Services, schools, and community agencies
What the client is looking for:
A Senior Psychologist with:
An honours degree in Psychology (QQI Level 8 or equivalent)
A recognised postgraduate qualification in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology
Accredited or accepted as equivalent by the Psychological Society of Ireland
Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience
, including 2 years at staff-grade or higher
Strong clinical skills in assessment, formulation, and intervention
Experience in trauma-informed practice and complex family systems
Excellent MDT collaboration and communication abilities
