We are hiring an
SurgicalRegistrar
to a leading Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
Provide general surgical care under the supervision of the Consultant and support them in clinical duties.
Admit, assess, and review surgical patients as required by Consultants or Nursing staff.
Conduct routine and requested reviews of post-operative patients, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
Participate in daily Consultant rounds and ensure effective patient handover to maintain continuity of care.
Perform clinical procedures (e.g., IV infusions, catheterisation, lumbar punctures) as directed.
Prescribe and manage medications in line with Consultant instructions and hospital policies, ensuring accurate documentation.
Escalate any significant changes in patient condition promptly to the responsible Consultant.
Assist in theatre, participate in on-call duties, and respond to emergencies across the hospital.
Complete patient histories, examinations, and ensure informed consent is obtained and documented.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support quality improvement initiatives, coordinate surgical rosters, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and standards.
Requirements
Hold a recognised medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
Maintain current and valid Medical Council registration.
Possess up-to-date ACLS certification.
Have experience working at Registrar level in an acute hospital setting.
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Exhibit strong communication skills in clinical and professional settings.
Show a high level of flexibility to support efficient service delivery.
Adapt to changing clinical demands and work environments as required.
