Unijobs DAC are currently recruiting a Senior Analyst for the Management Reporting and Financial Planning Department, within the Finance Division at the University of Limerick. The position is temporary, full time, working 35 hours per week. The rate of pay is starting at €33.20 per hour. The position is initially anticipated to be until the end of July 2026, with the possibility of extension thereafter. Job Description The post holder will be a key member of the Management, Planning and Reporting team, who are responsible in collaboration with budget stakeholders for developing multi-annual financial plans, annual forecasts and the reporting of actual results against approved budgets. The post holder will be responsible for the reporting of budgets, financial plans and management accounts, at a consolidated level, to Executive Management, Governing Authority, HEA (Higher Education Authority) and to the IUA (Irish Universities Association). The key responsibilities of this post will include, but will not be limited to: The duties of the post will include but not be restricted to the following: Support the MPR team in the development of financial strategies, budgets and plans that align to university financial strategy, ensuring that faculty/divisional/departmental budget agree with the central university budget which incorporates key performance indicators. Prepare consolidated budget and financial plans in collaboration with budget stakeholders, ensuring detailed income and expenditure templates roll into P&Ls by fund group. In collaboration with both financial controllers, prepare the annual HEA budget and accountability template and presentation. Produce consolidated quarterly and year-end management reports for executive management, governing authority and the HEA. Collaborate with finance operations in the reconciliation of GAAP financial statements to MPR management accounts. Collaborate with financial systems management, on the delivery of excelerator management reports, set-up of new and modification of existing excelerator reports, browser reports. Sign off on User Acceptance testing. Monitor the pension control account, ensuring that transactions related to retired staff are work-flowed to control accounts on Unit4 ERP. Liaise with finance operations on quarter and year-end cut off dates, year-end posting of overheads, accruals and expenditure. Assit the finance manager on HEA reports such as Full Economic Costing, and RGAM. Authorise and manage the administration of recurrent budget adjustments, throughout the financial year. Monitor faculty and division expenditure, identify variances to stakeholders and recommend remedial action in collaboration with Finance Business Partners. Provide training, advice, and direction to MPR admin staff. The above is intended as a guide to the general range of duties to be neither definitive nor restrictive. Essential Requirements: The role requires a high-level understanding of database management, project management skills, including project specification, technical development, testing and implementation. Knowledge of data extraction from multiple sources and data management tools. Knowledge of complex financial information sources and databases. Knowledge of ERP systems for finance and HR. Knowledge of consolidation of group activities and reconciliation of audited financial statements to management accounts. Advanced Excel spreadsheet techniques and capabilities, Word and PowerPoint. UNIT4 Finance ERP, SI student records system, SITS, Core payroll or equivalent systems. An excellent understanding of relational databases. Excelerator report writer or equivalent. Ability to participate in meetings, displaying excellent communication skills, oral and written and ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner. Ability to maintain highly complex financial databases. Strong organisational and time management skills. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills to enable interpretation of data. Teamwork skills including ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team environment. Minimum 7 years working in medium to large complex organisations with multiple stakeholders at an appropriate level. History of working to meet strict deadlines. Project management experience. Experience in a reporting function dealing with multiple stakeholders. Experience of working in an atmosphere of trust and discretion. Experience of working with modern financial management systems. Experience of effecting improvements and raising the standard of reporting. Experience of change management and implementing new reports and analysis. Leaving Certificate or equivalent. Level 8 NFQ in IT, financial analysis, business or similar. Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ACMA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent. Desirable Requirements: Knowledge of Unit 4, Core and SI. Power query dashboard development skills. Experience of working in a higher education environment. Experience of managing staff and teams.
