The persons appointed to this post will work within the HSE South West Area working as part of multi-disciplinary teams delivering a coordinated approach to client care.
Services provided by Residential Services for Older People, Cork & Kerry comprise Continuing Care, Convalescent Care, Transitional Care, Respite Care and Palliative Care.
Six Health Regions have been established within the HSE based on geographical boundaries agreed by the Government in July 2019 and will be operational from 2024.
Each Health Region will be tasked with population specific planning, resourcing and delivery of health and social care services for the needs of its unique population, improving accountability and governance, and bringing decision-making closer to the frontline.

The HSE South West health region will manage and deliver all public health and social care services in Cork and Kerry. It includes South / South West Hospital Group and Cork Kerry Community Healthcare.
HSE Services working within this region include acute hospitals, primary care services, community services, social care services, health and social care professionals, and voluntary sector services.
Purpose of the Post
Delivery of a high level of effective clinical care and support to residents in a residential care setting, and promotion of rehabilitation and re-enablement to a frail elderly population admitted for convalescence/rehabilitation.
Management and development of nurse education and training, strategic approach to service and structure development, continuous quality improvement, and management of change to comply with HIQA Standards and National Standards for residential safety and quality assurance.
Management of human and financial resources within defined resources.
