Job Title: Instructor/Senior Practitioner - Intellectual Disability Support

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Instructor/Senior Practitioner to join our specialist day service supporting adults with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities in South Tipperary.
This permanent role involves delivering tailored, person-centred training and supporting individuals to build independence, develop life skills, and participate in community life in accordance with New Directions guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deliver training programmes based on individual Person Centred Plans (PCPs)
2. Promote skill development, independence, and social participation among service users
3. Support individuals in developing friendships, hobbies, and employment-related goals, promoting their overall well-being and quality of life
4. Build strong relationships with families, colleagues, and external stakeholders through effective communication and liaison
5. Contribute to maintaining accurate records and participating in planning and review processes
6. Act as a Key Worker for assigned service users, providing comprehensive support and guidance
7. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, including safeguarding and health and safety, upholding the highest standards of practice
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
* A QQI Level 6 qualification in Disability Studies, Healthcare, or Train the Trainer, or equivalent
* A minimum of six months' experience in a similar role working with adults with intellectual disabilities
* Strong IT and administrative skills, enabling efficient record-keeping and communication
* A full clean Irish/EU driving licence, facilitating travel between locations
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to build strong relationships with colleagues and service users alike
* Empathy, flexibility, and a commitment to person-centred support, underpinning your approach to working with individuals
