Our client are a market leader in building materials and insulation/lagging. We are currently for a Sales and Support Coordinator who will play a vital role in supporting the technical and sales functions of the business.
This position requires a high level of accuracy, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to customer service. The role involves managing quotations, interpreting technical drawings, liaising with customers directly, and supporting both the sales and technical teams across various product areas including thermal insulation, fire protection, and acoustic systems.
Key Responsibilities
8. Prepare accurate and timely quotations using existing pricelists based on technical specifications, customer requests, and project drawings.
9. Read and interpret basic construction drawings and product specifications to advise on material suitability and quantities.
10. Act as a key point of contact for incoming sales and technical queries via phone, email, and the trade counter.
11. Handle customer queries efficiently and professionally, including situations where products or solutions are unavailable.
12. Maintain excellent communication with internal teams (sales & technical) to ensure smooth coordination and customer satisfaction.
13. Be able to prioritise and assist the technical insulation, fire protection, and acoustic teams with administrative and customer support tasks.
14. Provide overflow support to the sales team during peak periods or when required.
15. Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotations, and customer interactions using CRM systems.
16. Ensure personal knowledge base is up to date by documenting key information and attending regular training. Some travel may be necessary for initial product training.
Essential:
17. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a technical sales support or estimating role.
18. Strong mathematical and visual interpretation skills – ability to carry out accurate calculations and visualise solutions.
19. Proficiency in reading and understanding technical and construction drawings.
20. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
21. Ability to handle high volumes of customer interaction across various channels (phone, email, trade counter).
22. Confident and courteous approach with the ability to professionally decline requests that fall outside company capabilities.
23. High level of attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
24. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
Desirable:
25. Background in insulation, construction, or building materials industry.
26. Experience supporting sales and technical teams simultaneously.
27. Familiarity with fire-rated or acoustic insulation products.
