Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and self-sufficient Accounts Technican or part qualified accountant on a short-term contract basis to support the preparation of financials and documentation for budget & business plans.
The ideal candidate will have strong Excel and accounting skills, with a preference for experience using Sage.
You must be able to work independently, deliver accurate outputs with direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing the financial components of business plans, including:
Cash flow forecasts
Profit & loss projections
Budget breakdowns
Work with historical financial data to create projections and analysis
Build and refine Excel models for different business scenarios
Extract and manipulate data from accounting systems (preferably Sage)
Collaborate with Financial Controller to gather inputs where needed
Ensure accuracy and clarity of all financial elements in the plans
Requirements:
Proven experience in accounting, finance, or business planning support
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
Formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling
Experience with Sage (Sage 50 or similar) preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Good communication skills and business acumen
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with financial reporting templates
