Experienced Accounting Professional required for a prominent Accountancy and Business Consultancy company based in Galway.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the preparation and review of year-end accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, and corporation and income tax filings.
* Maintain excellent relationships with a portfolio of clients through regular contact, advice, and proactive support.
* Be the go-to expert for clients with complex technical queries on tax, compliance, or reporting matters.
* Provide advisory services such as cash flow planning, profit improvement, and restructuring.
Team Leadership & Development
* Manage, support, and develop junior and intermediate accounting staff, including performance reviews and technical training.
* Ensure high standards of accuracy and compliance through structured review processes and coaching.
Practice Development & Strategy
* Work closely with senior partners to identify growth opportunities, improve internal systems, and deliver strategic projects.
* Play a hands-on role in business development, including proposals, onboarding, and new service lines.
* Implement and optimise workflows using best-in-class accounting and cloud tools (Surf, Relate, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks).
Requirements:
* ACA / ACCA / CPA qualified (or equivalent)
* Minimum 4 years' recent experience in an Irish accountancy practice
* Excellent technical knowledge of Irish GAAP, Corporation Tax, Income Tax, and VAT
* Demonstrated experience managing a team and a portfolio of clients
* Highly proficient in cloud-based and traditional accounting platforms
* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and document management systems
