Abbott Vascular is one of the world's leading vascular care businesses. It is focused on advancing the treatment of vascular disease and improving patient care through innovation in medical devices and pharmaceuticals, investing in research and development, and providing training and education.
Our broad line of vascular devices—covering vessel closure, endovascular, and coronary technologies—are used to treat vessel diseases of the heart, carotid arteries, and peripheral blood vessels. These conditions can lead to heart attack, stroke, critical limb ischemia, and other serious vascular issues.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
This role provides leadership in Plant Compliance, Strategic Compliance initiatives, cGMP, and Food Safety within Manufacturing. It includes directing continuous improvement efforts.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety Rules and Regulations in the plant.
* Report hazards to your manager immediately.
* Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E) at all times and consult SOPs as required.
* Participate actively in the Food Safety Management Team, responsible for the HACCP Programme.
* Review all SOPs for your tasks to ensure understanding and adherence.
* Lead strategic quality initiatives in Compliance and other areas.
* Implement and manage audit readiness in Manufacturing.
* Develop, analyze, and communicate compliance matrices.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant Regulations/Legislation.
* Develop and deliver compliance training based on business needs.
* Ensure new equipment/processes meet cGMP standards and regulations.
* Manage the Manufacturing Department's janitorial staff and requirements.
* Ensure compliance with all corporate and division policies.
* Benchmark activities to align with industry standards.
* Audit the Manufacturing Department and participate as a lead auditor in internal and external audits.
* Manage compliance walk-downs and ensure audit readiness for CRQS, Division, and regulatory audits.
* Oversee the plant sanitation program, liaising with third-party contractors.
* Report sanitation performance in management reviews.
This role's responsibilities may evolve with procedural updates and plant needs. Employees are expected to be adaptable and flexible.
EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES
* A Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Quality, or a related discipline.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Experience in auditing and analytical techniques.
* Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
* Effective communication across all organizational levels and with cross-functional teams.
