Maintenance Fitter
Mowi Ireland (formerly Marine Harvest Ireland) is the world's leading producer of farmed salmon with operations in Norway, Chile, Canada, USA, Japan and Europe. As an essential service in both farming and food production, the company an exciting new opportunity for a Mechanic / fitter with experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance to join our team in Castletownbere, Beara, Co. Cork.
The candidate will report to the Operations Manager and will be primarily based in Cork but will have routine travel between any of Mowi Ireland site locations in the South West of Ireland.
Requirements:
* Mechanical fitter qualification
* Experience with Marine based equipment such as vessels, outboards, winches, generators and forklifts would be beneficial.
* Experience with fault finding and PLCs.
* Experience with Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM).
The Role:
* Preventative maintenance schedules & complete preventative maintenance as scheduled.
* Breakdown response to ensure production downtime is minimal.
* Ensuring risk assessment tools and methodology are incorporated into day to day tasks.
* Conducting internal maintenance inspections.
* Contribution to improvement processes
Applicants should be highly motivated, show initiative and independence with good written and verbal communication skills to work well within a team environment.
In addition to the above criteria, successful candidates should possess:
* Qualified Mechanic, diesel fitter or equivalent.
* Project management experience.
* Good organisational and written communication skills.
* Proficiency with standard IT / software systems.
* Strong interpersonal skills
