Director of International operations & Business DevelopmentWe are presently recruiting for Substation Commissioning Electrical Engineers for our clients to work nationwide Ireland. You will test, calibrate and validate high-voltage equipment before it enters service. You will verify protection systems, SCADA, transformers, and switchgear performance, ensuring compliance with design and safety standards. This is a full-time position with travel required throughout Ireland with opportunities for all experience levels from recent graduates to senior Commissioning Engineers.ResponsibilitiesCommissioning primary, secondary and ancillary plant forming part of Transmission SystemCommissioning testing of instrument transformers, power transformers and HV GIS switchgear.Commissioning testing of protection relays using Omicron test equipmentMaintain test records and collate test results for incorporation into H&S Files for project.Work through all schematics, cubicle wiring and functional testing.Have knowledge of typical protection philosophies as applied to Transmission SystemsAttend regular project meetings with client and project manager and address actions arising.Assess site safety prior to engaging in commissioning activitiesContribute to the development of Method Statements/Risk Assessments to cover commissioning work activities.Be self-motivated and be capable of working on own initiative without direct supervision.Qualifications and experiencesDegree in Electrical Engineering is essential.Strong knowledge of commissioning substations with voltages up to 400kV.Experienced in supplier protection equipment e.g ABB, Siemens, Toshiba and knowledge of station digital control systems (SCS).Valid Driving licence to drive in Ireland is essential.Salary and contactSalary is open to negotiation, based on experience with additional allowance for travel, accommodation and daily subsistence allowance.
