Role Summary
The Duty Manager will play a key leadership role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the hotel, with a particular emphasis on Food & Beverage service. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong operational knowledge, excellent people management skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. The Duty Manager will oversee staff across all departments during their shift, support F&B operations, and ensure the highest standards of service are consistently maintained.Key Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
* Oversee daily hotel operations, acting as the point of contact for all departments.
* Ensure smooth running of Food & Beverage service across restaurant, bar, and banqueting.
* Maintain high standards of customer care and respond quickly to guest feedback or complaints.
* Monitor cleanliness, presentation, and compliance with health & safety standards.
* Liaise closely with Reception, Kitchen, Housekeeping, and Maintenance to ensure seamless guest service.
Food & Beverage Focus
* Supervise and support F&B teams to deliver efficient, friendly, and professional service.
* Ensure menus, promotions, and service standards are consistently implemented.
* Assist in stock control, ordering, and cost management to support profitability.
* Conduct floor walks to maintain service standards and presentation across the hotel.
* Monitor F&B revenue opportunities and encourage upselling across outlets.
* Support in training staff on product knowledge, service techniques, and guest engagement.
Team Leadership & Training
* Lead, motivate, and support staff on duty across all departments.
* Provide coaching and training to ensure high performance standards.
* Manage daily rosters, attendance, and shift handovers.
* Encourage a positive work environment that fosters teamwork and professional growth.
Administration & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with hotel policies, health & safety, HACCP, and licensing laws.
* Complete shift reports, record incidents, and communicate effectively with senior management.
* Support the Owner and Heads of Department with daily operational needs.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience Essential
* Proven experience in hotel management or supervisory role with a strong Food & Beverage background.
* Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
* Customer-focused with a genuine passion for hospitality.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and make effective decisions.
* Good understanding of financial controls, stock management, and cost control.
* Flexibility to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
