Childcare Manager - Mallow, Co. Cork

We are currently recruiting a Childcare Manager for a well-established early years and family support organisation based in Mallow, Co. Cork. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a genuine love of children, strong leadership skills, and a solid understanding of early years care, compliance, and team management.
Hours:
Full-time - 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Shifts between 8:00am and 5:00pm
Salary:
€42,588 per annum, on a salary scale (with performance-based increments)

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of the childcare service, providing a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children aged 6 months to 12 years. You will lead a team of early years professionals, ensure regulatory compliance (TUSLA, POBAL, etc.), liaise with parents and external agencies, and manage resources and operations in line with national best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
5. Lead and supervise a team of childcare staff
6. Ensure compliance with TUSLA, Department of Education, and Food Safety standards
7. Maintain a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children
8. Implement and review Aistear-based curriculum
9. Liaise with parents, families, and external agencies
10. Manage rosters, HR issues, and staff development
11. Assist with budget planning, funding applications, and reporting
Essential Requirements:
12. QQI Level 7 or 8 in Early Childhood Studies (Level 6 with strong experience may be considered)
13. Minimum 5 years' experience in childcare, with 3 in a management role
14. In-depth understanding of TUSLA, POBAL (ECCE, NCS, Core Funding), and the HIVE platform
15. Proven HR and team leadership experience
16. Familiarity with Child Protection and Safeguarding Guidelines
Desirable:
17. Experience working with a voluntary Board of Directors
18. Knowledge of Childcare Apps ( Childspath)
19. Experience with children from diverse family backgrounds
