Finance Assistant (Public Sector, Dublin City Centre) €52,546 | 12-Month Contract Our client, a public sector organisation based in Dublin city centre, is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to support core finance, governance, reporting and audit activities within a corporate services environment.
This is a 12-month contract role, suited to a finance professional with strong experience in controls, financial reporting support and working within a regulated or public sector setting.
Location: Dublin City Centre/Hybrid Salary: €52,546 per annum Contract: Full-time, 12-month contract Key Responsibilities Supporting internal and external audit processes and assisting with preparation of annual financial statements Performing compliance checks on payments and financial transactions Supporting the management and ongoing improvement of finance and financial systems Maintaining and updating finance policies and procedures in line with governance requirements Supporting programme and operational finance activities, including invoicing, direct debits, statements, reporting and query resolution Managing fixed asset accounting and maintaining an accurate fixed asset register Working closely with operational teams to improve internal financial workflows and processes Assisting the Financial Accountant and wider finance team as required Essential Requirements Either: NFQ Level 8 qualification (Honours Degree or higher) in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a finance or accounts function Or: NFQ Level 7 qualification in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a finance or accounts function Experience using accounting packages and/or ERP systems Strong understanding of financial controls and governance Well-developed IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365 Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary finance or corporate services team High level of accuracy, numeracy and attention to detail Desirable Requirements Experience working in a public sector or regulated environment Membership of a professional accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA) Experience supporting audits, compliance or statutory reporting Strong analytical and stakeholder communication skills Apply: Send your CV to Jane Ryan via the link below.
