6 Month Contract role.As a Senior Analyst VMware Horizon VDI working in a challenging international enterprise environment, you will ensure that the Hertz VMWare Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) server farms and end-user services will be managed and maintained so that desktops and applications are highly available 24/7 to Hertz teams globally.What You'll Do:Be part of a project tasked with upgrading existing Horizon VDI server farms running in VMWare Cloud on AWS to a managed Omnissa Horizon/AWS Workspaces desktop environment across multiple regions in EU.Manage and deploy the Hertz VDI DEM user-management and application streaming environments in AWS cloud services.Upgrade VDI Win10 OS desktops to Win11 including application migrations.Support virtual desktop Windows 11 gold master images and applications that are optimized to deliver stable high-performance desktops to end-users.Provide day-to-day VMware Horizon and AWS Workspaces VDI engineering support to Hertz users globally.Plan support requirements with Business Analysts and Project Managers to establish new installations, upgrades, and bespoke configuration setups.Prepare and maintain end-user and technical user documentation for VDI environments.You will need excellent problem solving, communication and organizational skills.An ability to work closely with technical resources, business partners and work independently when required.Strong customer focus.What We're Looking For:Essential Criteria:Graduate degree in IT discipline, Computer Science, Engineering or other equivalent degree or relevant experience.Minimum of 3 years' experience administering a VMware Horizon or virtualized desktop suite in an enterprise environment facilitating patching, imaging, software deployment, monitoring and reporting.VMware Horizon virtual desktop technology certifications.Knowledge of the latest AWS Cloud, SAN, hyper-converged and hybrid data centre technologies.Experience of managing enterprise Microsoft Windows (10/11) desktops, Microsoft Windows Server (all versions), anti-virus and endpoint security deployments.Automation, Auto-Scaling and PowerShell scripting skillsets.Strong analytical and investigative skills along with an ability to learn and adapt quickly in a continuously changing and demanding environment are essential.Ability to communicate effectively to different levels of leadership within the organisation both in writing and orally.Desirable Criteria:Experience of working in an international enterprise environment with exposure to multiple languages.Experience of working with virtualized server, and SAN technologies.Experience with SCOM and Dynatrace monitoring technologies and PagerDuty incident response platform.ITIL and Service Delivery best practices.Knowledge of the latest security technologies and standards particularly in relation to protecting against ransomware cyber events.Project management skills and accreditations.What You'll Strive For:You will ensure that the Hertz VMWare Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) server farms and end-user services will be managed and maintained so that desktops and applications are highly available 24/7 to Hertz teams globallyWhat You'll Get:Hybrid/flexible working arrangements.Work from Abroad: Up to 20 days annually.22 days holidays on hire rising to 27 days with service.Birthday Leave: 1 day off per year.Paid Maternity, Adoption & Paternity Leave.Employee Assistance Programme: Counselling, coaching, advisory services 24/7 365 days per year for employee and family.Occupational Health support.Occupational Pension Scheme – non-contributory auto enrolment on commencement.
