Senior Occupational Therapist
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in paediatrics, with expertise in assessing and treating children aged 9 years and older.
* Comprehensive child-centred occupational therapy assessments for children with developmental, sensory, physical, and emotional needs.
* Formulating individualised, evidence-based intervention plans that support participation and independence in daily activities.
* Delivering direct and indirect interventions using a combination of clinic-based sessions, school visits, home visits, and group programmes.
* Developing functional skills, sensory processing, fine and gross motor abilities, handwriting, emotional regulation, and executive functioning.
* Supporting children with Autism, DCD, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, and other developmental or neurological conditions.
* Working collaboratively as part of a Primary Care multidisciplinary team, including Speech and Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, and Public Health Nurses.
* Liaising with families, teachers, SNAs, and other community professionals to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to each child's care.
* Providing education, training, and strategies to parents, teachers, and carers to support carryover of therapy goals in natural environments.
* Attending case conferences and contributing to Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) where required.
* Providing clinical supervision, mentoring, and guidance to Staff Grade OTs, students, and therapy assistants.
* Taking a lead role in service planning and development initiatives aimed at improving access, quality, and outcomes for paediatric clients.
* Participating in or leading service audits, quality improvement projects, and clinical research activities.
* Contributing to the design and implementation of group therapy programmes and innovative service delivery models.
* Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records in line with HSE, CORU, and local policies.
* Ensuring appropriate risk assessments and safeguarding procedures are in place for each client.
* Adhering to professional standards of practice, health and safety regulations, and data protection policies.
