We see femLENS as a tool for social change, offering an inclusive approach by empowering women to become change agents themselves by using photography to document their own lives within the society we live in, using the easily available tools – mobile phone cameras and other cheaper alternatives.We envisions a world in which more women from diverse backgrounds are included into the visual storytelling of the world. femLENS' mission is to empower women and their communities, to challenge stereotypes and discrimination in the media, through education, support, exhibitions and contacts with the media.,About FemLENSfemLENS is a nonprofit that teaches documentary photography to women from underrepresented communities, helping them tell their own stories. We also publishWe See, a magazine featuring grassroots photography, women's rights stories, and visual narratives from around the world. With 11 issues published, we want to bring the magazine to new audiences through universities, libraries, NGOs, and cultural networks.Why volunteer with us?This is a chance to gain valuable experience in outreach, partnerships, and cultural publishing while contributing to a feminist, grassroots project with international reach. You'll help amplify women's voices and stories that deserve wider recognition.What You'll DoResearch universities, libraries, NGOs, and cultural institutions that could share or stock We See.Build a simple contact database of professors, librarians, and programme managers.Send tailored outreach emails and follow-ups.Submit the magazine to library catalogues, university resource lists, and independent distributors.Provide partners with short blurbs and visuals so they can promote the magazine.Track and share the results of your outreach (downloads, new placements, Blurb sales).What You BringGood communication skills (writing polite, professional emails).Organised and methodical approach to keeping track of contacts.Interest in women's rights, photography, or publishing (no specialist knowledge needed).Enthusiasm and reliability — the role is flexible, but we count on your consistency.Time commitmentAround 4–6 hours per week (remote, flexible timing).Minimum commitment of 3 months so your efforts can have impact.What You'll GainPractical experience in outreach, partnership-building, and cultural distribution.Insight into nonprofit publishing and grassroots photography networks.A role you can include on your CV/LinkedIn with a meaningful international project.Being part of a small, passionate, creative team.If this sounds like you, or if you'd like to know more, please get in touch — we'd love to hear from you
