The team and the opportunityOur Technology Strategy & Transformation team specialises in supporting our clients on business and digital enablement through technology strategy, architecture and advisory services. Technology Strategy & Transformation operates within a global and EMEIA network across EY and provides C-Suites with insight and services to support the derivation of business value from technology investments. Our services cover the entire spectrum from strategy development to architecture and solution design through to execution.Our clients are facing a future of disruption driven by market changes, regulatory updates, customer expectations, new competition and technology innovation. We’re building a vision for how technology can accelerate growth and become a reliable transformation partner for our clients. We’re expanding the Technology Consulting team to help these companies navigate disruption and seize opportunities.
Your roleAs a Solution Architect you will help clients solve business problems and capitalize on opportunities in a changing marketplace. You will work with clients to understand business and technology strategy, build an enabling target operating model, technology initiatives and roadmaps that transition from the current state to the desired target state in a cost-efficient approach. You will design and implement complex software solutions that meet business needs.We are seeking an energetic Solution Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a fundamental understanding of technology and will guide development teams, ensure best practices are followed, and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
Your Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and document architectural designs for software solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and ensure the architecture aligns with the overall technology strategy.Support the planning, execution and delivery of engagements including technology transformations and technology-related services.Work effectively as a team member, sharing responsibility, providing support, maintaining communication with team members and leadership on progress.Build strong internal relationships within EY Technology Consulting and across other service lines we work with and support.Support the growth of the practice through development of relevant industry and technology Thought Leadership material.Ensure and adhere to EY quality and risk management processes across projects and other interactions.
Skills And Attributes For SuccessTo qualify for the role, you must have:An undergraduate or graduate degreeA minimum of 7 years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years as a solution architect, platform architect or in a similar role.Strong understanding of software development methodologies, architecture patterns (e.g., microservices, SOA), and design principles.Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Ideally, you will also have:Proficiency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, JavaScript) and familiarity with frameworks and libraries.Solution Architecture experience in data and API integration technologies including designing and implementing integrations in complex environments using technologies such as HTTP, REST, SOAP and JSON.Experience in enterprise applications, ERPs and CRM systems; across multiple applications and vendors (Oracle, Microsoft, Salesforce, Kraken, Infor, Deltek, Workday etc).Experience in implementing Information Security Governance, principles and techniques to protect information systems.Experience in innovative and emerging technologies e.g. AI/GenAI.Experience in cloud-based technology such as Azure, AWS.Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of architectural designs, technical specifications, and implementation guidelines.Relevant certifications across platforms such as AWS, TOGAF, Azure or related PM certifications – Agile, Scrum, ITIL certification.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex technology challenges and develop innovative solutions.Ability to use effective written and verbal business communication skills when interacting with clients and team members.
