Head of Cyber Security (CISO) opportunity with a healthcare company based in south Dublin. This is a senior leadership role with full ownership of cyber strategy, risk and security operations across a complex, highly regulated environment.
This is a key appointment with direct impact on protecting critical systems, sensitive data and ensuring operational resilience. The role partners closely with the CIO and wider executive team.
Responsibilities
Define and deliver business cybersecurity strategy and roadmap
Provide executive-level guidance on cyber risk, threats and mitigation
Lead security operations, including incident response and major event escalation
Establish and oversee SOC capability and system-wide monitoring
Own risk management, governance and compliance (GDPR, NIS2, etc.)
Define security architecture, policies and standards across IT and digital programmes
Build and lead the cybersecurity function
Budget & Resource Management
Experience
10+ years in cybersecurity / information security with experience at Head of / Director / CISO level
Bachelor’s degree and professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent)
Experience delivering cybersecurity strategies in a regulated environment (HIQA exp is desirable)
Strong background in security operations, incident response and risk management
Deep understanding of core security technologies (SIEM, IAM, endpoint, firewalls etc)
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST)
Experience building and leading security teams
