Role Summary
As our Digital Content Specialist, you will be responsible for creating, curating, and engaging content across our digital channels, including social, website, email, and blogs. From planning content ideas and writing copy to supporting visual content, short‑form video, campaigns and product launches, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and loves turning ideas into content that gets noticed.
We are looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and creative, with strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in what makes people stop, engage, click, save, share, and act.
You will create content for various audiences including homeowners, retail and trade partners, installers, and interior design audiences, ensuring everything feels consistent, aspirational and on brand.
Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, you will work closely with our marketing and sales teams to grow our digital channels, strengthen engagement, and create high‑quality, on‑brand content that drives awareness, consideration, and sales.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage a digital content plan that supports MERLYN’s brand strategy, campaigns, and commercial goals.
Create engaging, on‑brand content for social, website, email, blogs, product launches, and digital campaigns.
Bring fresh ideas, creative thinking, and a strong understanding of digital trends to help grow MERLYN’s online channels.
Write and optimise website, blog and product content using SEO best practice, including keywords, metadata, and content structure.
Plan and create email marketing content, including newsletters, promotional campaigns, product launches, and seasonal updates.
Collaborate with the in‑house designer, agencies, and external partners to produce visual content, including images, graphics, infographics, and short‑form video.
Monitor content performance across digital channels and use insights to improve engagement, reach, website traffic, and conversions.
Work closely with the marketing, sales, NPI and PR teams to align content with brand campaigns, product launches, and business priorities.
Support influencer, blogger, media, and industry expert activity to help build brand awareness and credibility.
Attend trade shows, exhibitions and events where required to capture content, support brand activity, and manage live social media updates.
Use digital and AI‑assisted tools to support content planning, editing, idea generation and workflow efficiency, while ensuring all final content is accurate and on brand.
Qualifications and Requirements
A degree or relevant qualification in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field would be an advantage.
3 to 5 years’ experience in digital content creation, social media management, or digital marketing, ideally within the home, interiors, lifestyle, retail, or design sector.
Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create compelling and engaging content for different audiences.
A natural storyteller with personality, curiosity, and creative flair, who can bring fresh ideas to the table and help grow MERLYN’s digital channels with content that feels engaging, useful and on brand.
Confidence creating or briefing visual content, including images, graphics, reels, short‑form video, and campaign assets.
Creative mindset with excellent attention to detail and the ability to translate brand vision into effective content.
An organized and detail‑focused work style, with the ability to manage multiple content tasks, campaigns, and deadlines.
Ability to review performance data and use insights to improve content and channel growth.
Willingness to travel to trade shows, exhibitions, and events to capture content.
