Job Title: Company Accountant
We are recruiting for a highly skilled Company Accountant to join our client, an SME based in Kilkenny.

The successful candidate will manage the full finance function, play a key part in supporting business growth, driving financial performance, and ensuring full compliance with financial and tax regulations.
Your New Job:
* Manage the company's finance systems and processes, enhancing current processes and systems.
* Responsible for maintaining all aspects of the accounts, including sales, purchases, nominal ledgers, etc.
* Maintain financial ledgers and accounting processes, producing management accounts.
* Manage cost accounting and cost centres.
* Maintain bank account, reconcile to bank statement, and produce Weekly Cashflow Reports.
* Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, track and report variances.
* Manage and comply with government reporting requirements and tax filing on ROS, including PAYE/PRSI, VAT returns, RCT.
* Take full control of invoicing, creditors, debtors, bank account payments, etc.
* Administer and run payroll for fixed-term employees, seasonal staff, and subcontractors in a timely and compliant manner.
* Support equipment and fleet management, ensuring insurance, tax, and compliance matters are up to date.
* Support costing reports for upcoming projects.
* Liaise with senior management with financial insights to support decision-making and risk management.
* Liaise with external accountant as required.
* Coordinate annual audits and ensure accurate record keeping across all finance areas.
* Maintain compliance with employment laws, health & safety, and financial regulations.
Requirements:
* Professional accounting qualification or strong background in a similar role.
* At least 4 years' experience in a similar accounting or finance role.
* Previous experience in construction or related sectors is highly advantageous.
* Strong knowledge of Irish tax laws and financial compliance.
* Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proactive, solution-focused mindset with strong organisational ability.
* High proficiency in accounting software, Sage, and Microsoft Office Suite.
