We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Speech & Language Therapist to join the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) in Donegal. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a family‑centred, interdisciplinary model supporting children with complex developmental, communication, and feeding needs.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Speech & Language Therapist:
Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children with a range of developmental, communication, and feeding/swallowing needs.
Manage a complex paediatric caseload in line with CDNT and HSE frameworks.
Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Work, and other relevant disciplines.
Support and supervise staff‑grade Speech & Language Therapists and students.
Actively contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and implementation of best practice within the CDNT model.
Engage with families, carers, schools, and external agencies to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
Maintain high‑quality clinical documentation in accordance with HSE and CORU standards.
Requirements for the Senior Speech & Language Therapist:
Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy.
CORU registration (mandatory).
Significant post‑qualification experience working with children with disabilities.Strong clinical skills across a range of paediatric presentations including ASD, developmental language disorder, speech sound disorders, and feeding difficulties.
Experience providing clinical supervision and contributing to team development.
Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
Desirable Experience
Previous experience working within a CDNT or disability service.
Experience with transdisciplinary or family‑centred models of care.
Participation in service planning, audits, or quality improvement initiatives.
