In the Springhill manufacturing site in Cork, in collaboration with our customers, we are driven to make healthcare better by providing innovative surgical equipment that helps improve patient outcomes daily. As a member of the Site Leadership Team, you will play a strategic role in enabling the company to maintain its outstanding performance and support its future growth.
What You Will Do:
This role offers new and exciting challenges every day! You will lead one or more business units and develop a team of Operations Supervisors, ensuring high performance and employee engagement. Your business acumen will be crucial in achieving key financial metrics and targets, including quality, cost, and service.
Responsibilities:
* Manage production effectively daily, ensuring products are produced timely and cost-efficiently.
* Lead teams to foster a quality-first culture, customer service, continuous improvement, and employee engagement, aligning with Stryker Corporate and SGS standards.
* Set performance targets for the Business Unit(s) and monitor performance, taking corrective actions as needed.
* Lead high-performing teams, providing guidance across operational and functional areas, promoting continuous improvement.
* Ensure capacity planning processes are in place to meet or exceed customer requirements.
* Sponsor an environment focused on Safety, Quality, People Development, and Continuous Improvement.
* Promote open communication, engagement, and development within teams, fostering inclusiveness, trust, flexibility, and teamwork.
* Oversee talent selection, development, training, and performance management processes.
* Ensure compliance with all audit programs, including Corporate, notified body, and FDA audits.
* Maintain adherence to KPIs related to Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and People Development, and participate in forums for continuous improvement.
* Align capacity across the network to meet customer demands.
* Represent the Operations function during NPI launches, ensuring resource availability and timely product delivery.
* Collaborate strategically across functions to develop alignment and strategies.
* Contribute to the Site Management Team in developing operational plans.
* Build a culture of trust and engagement within operations, demonstrating behaviors that foster daily engagement.
* Manage performance, communication, and recognition effectively within the team.
* Support or manage major Continuous Improvement programs and projects from conception to execution.
* Standardize practices across local and global operations.
What You Need:
* Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in production management within a team-based environment (medical device experience is desirable but not essential).
* Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering or equivalent.
* Strong team player with the ability to leverage personnel abilities.
* Experience in developing business strategies and action plans.
* Proficiency in PC applications, inventory systems, MRP, and measurement tools.
* Excellent presentation and communication skills.
* Comfortable working in a team-based environment with high accountability for service levels, inventory management, costs, and quality/GMP compliance.
