There are currently permanent and specified purpose vacancies for whole-time and part-time Staff Midwives at Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise.
This is a rolling campaign. A panel may be formed from this campaign to fill current and future vacancies, both permanent and specified purpose, for full-time or part-time roles.

Purpose of the Post:
To work within a multidisciplinary team providing a safe, effective, high-quality midwifery service to women, babies, and their families. The Staff Midwife will deliver evidence-based care in the maternity department, antenatal outpatient service, and community services, offering choices to women in the catchment area.
Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications, and Experience:
Registered in the Midwives Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by NMBI or eligible for registration.
Possess clinical and administrative capacity to perform the role effectively.
Maintain annual registration with NMBI and confirm registration annually through the PSAC.
Be fully competent and capable of performing the duties of the role and in good health.
Of good character.
Post-Specific Requirements:
Demonstrate extensive experience in maternity care relevant to the role.
Complete or be willing to undertake accredited neonatal resuscitation certification.
Complete or be willing to undertake accredited fetal monitoring certification.
Complete or be willing to undertake accredited breastfeeding/lactation programme.
