Stock Controller Job Type: Temporary (until 30th September 2025) Hours: 36 per week Salary: £13.24 p/h Location: Newry (Travel to other sites maybe required) Reports to: Operations Manager - Hospitality & Catering Reed Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting a dedicated Stock Controller to join our clients team located in Newry. This role is crucial for maintaining an efficient and effective computer-based stores control and food costing system, ensuring the smooth operation of the College's kitchens and restaurants. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: In your new role, you will plan and review to ensure efficient control of food commodities for effective delivery Maintain and monitor the cost-efficient use of resources through the client's online stock control system. Obtain food commodities by placing orders, making requisitions, or drawing on available stock to minimise waste. Address problems in obtaining resources following agreed procedures, keeping relevant people informed. Check the quality, quantity, and suitability of resources and process invoices for all relevant deliveries. Ensure resources are correctly stored and maintained according to food safety regulations. What we need from you Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP standards. A Level 3 qualification (or higher) in any discipline A pass grade at GCSE Level in English or Essential Skills Level 2 in Literacy or an equivalent A pass grade at GCSE Level in Mathematics or Essential Skills Level 2 in Numeracy or NICATS Access Math's Modules or an equivalent qualification. A minimum of one years (within the last five) relevant industrial experience, including managing stock control within a catering environment.
