Role Introduction
Established in ****, Applegreen is a leading convenience roadside retailer in the Republic of Ireland, the UK and the US, operating large-scale Motorway Service Areas and Travel Plazas, as well as smaller petrol stations.
The business has grown to over €3 BN in annual revenue, operates 600 Motorway Service Plazas and forecourt sites internationally and employs over 17,000 people.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting continuous improvement of key reporting processes by standardising and streamlining monthly reporting across all areas of the business.
Consolidating, analysing and interpreting management accounts, ensuring information is accurate and provides insight to senior management around business performance.
Assisting with the development and maintenance of investment committee models, incorporating key performance indicators (KPIs), projected returns and sensitivity analysis to support decision-making, and contributing to investment committee presentations.
Monitoring and tracking approved investments, conducting post-investment appraisals and escalating underperformance where necessary.
Managing budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
Preparing commercial sales reports and sales dashboards for key stakeholders to facilitate decision-making and ensuring accuracy and integrity of data.
Supporting executive and leadership meetings, including the preparation of presentation material and analyses.
Aiding in the consolidation of information from finance teams prior to BRM meetings.
Supporting the ROI commercial finance teams with analysis, reporting and other work during periods of high demand.
Developing relationships with key stakeholders in ROI Finance, particularly management accounting and fuel accounting teams.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Qualified ACA accountant, preferably in the top 10 of the training cohort.
Newly qualified to 1 year post-qualification experience.
Strong academics with an accounting-related degree or master's.
Experience with SAP and Oracle EPM is preferred.
Power BI experience is preferred.
Experience in a PLC environment is preferred.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
