Mindrift is looking for a skilled DevOps / Automation Engineer (Infrastructure & Scaling) to join the Tendem project (https://tendem.ai/) and build and maintain scalable infrastructure for automation workflows within our hybrid AI + human environment. About The Role
This is a freelance role for a Tendem project. As a DevOps / Automation Engineer, you’ll design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure supporting automation workflows, ensuring system stability, scalability, and high availability across environments.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy and maintain self-hosted automation environments (e.g., n8n instances or similar systems)Design and manage infrastructure to support high-volume workflows and large-scale data processingScale automation systems to handle concurrent workloads and performance-intensive tasksSet up monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to track workflow performance and detect failuresImplement alerts for critical events (e.g., node failures, performance drops, system instability)Ensure system uptime, reliability, and fault tolerance across automation pipelines
Requirements
At least 3 years of relevant experience in DevOps, infrastructure engineering, or backend system management (required)Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical fields is a plusStrong experience with cloud platforms, server environments, and deployment workflowsProven ability to maintain high-availability systems and scalable architecturesExperience setting up monitoring, logging, and alerting systems (logs, metrics, uptime monitoring)Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker or similar)Understanding of system performance, scaling strategies, and fault toleranceExperience supporting automation platforms and high-frequency workflowsStrong attention to detail and commitment to system reliabilitySelf-directed work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize infrastructure independentlyPortfolio or examples demonstrating infrastructure setup, monitoring, or scaling systems is a plusEnglish proficiency: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above (required)
Compensation
On this project, contributors can earn up to $60 per hour equivalent, depending on their level and pace of contribution. Compensation varies across projects depending on scope, complexity, and required expertise.
