OverviewSenior/ Principal Engineer (Roads) at WSP in Canada2 weeks ago Be among the first 25 applicantsThe Ireland Roads Team is seeking a Senior or Principal Engineer with extensive post professional qualification experience in the design and project management of road schemes and active travel schemes to work in either our Dublin or Limerick office. The team is growing and offers excellent opportunities for the right candidate.ResponsibilitiesLead and grow a team undertaking concept, preliminary and detailed designs for major road schemes and active travel schemes.Manage projects to ensure coordination and compatibility of multi-disciplinary inputs on projects of varying scale, complexity and value.Liaise with clients, develop strong trusted relationships, manage expectations, and provide comprehensive advisory support.Undertake project technical lead and reviewer roles; develop staff and provide mentoring.Prepare fee proposals and manage budgets for individual projects.Develop and deliver discrete and overall project solutions; lead design drawings, standard construction details, specifications and bill of quantities; support tender package preparation.Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation and in-house quality assurance standards/processes.What We Will Be Looking For You To DemonstrateProject management and technical delivery leadership of road or public transport/active travel schemes with experience of Transport Infrastructure Ireland/National Transport Authority/Local Authority procedures.Experience with contract document preparation or contract administration/site supervision using Public Works Contracts.Chartered member of a relevant engineering institution; Chartered Civil Engineer or Incorporated Engineer with extensive post-qualification experience.Experience or knowledge of alignment and drainage design software (e.g., Civil3D/Open Roads/MX, WinDes) preferred but not essential.Strong communication, client management and interpersonal skills.Understanding of current design standards (e.g., DMURS, Traffic Signs Manual, Cycle Design Manual, DMURS-related guidelines) and Highway Geometric Design (TII/NTA guidelines).Strong stakeholder management skills.Don’t quite meet all the criteria?
