We are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a well-established organisation in Waterford.
This is a permanent, full-time position, reporting to senior finance leadership, and will see you play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust accounting records, and ensuring compliance with all statutory obligations.

Your new job
Key duties and responsibilities:
* Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual management account, ensuring they are accurate and meet all reporting standards.
* Oversee and maintain the integrity of the general ledger, making sure all postings are correct and up to date.
* Coordinate the close of accounting periods, ensuring deadlines are met for both month-end and year-end.
* Carry out reconciliations, prepare journals, and review financial results to identify and explain variances.
* Liaise with external auditors by providing required documentation and assisting throughout the audit process.
* Manage compliance with all relevant tax obligations, including preparation of VAT, payroll taxes, and corporation tax submissions.
* Support the creation of budgets and forecasts, as well as monitoring cash flow performance.
* Deliver ad hoc financial analysis and tailored reports to meet management requirements.
* Manage the fixed asset register.
What are we looking for?
* Qualified accountant with regocnised accounting body in Ireland preferred.
* At least 2 years’ post-qualification or strong part-qualified experience in a busy finance environment.
* Solid understanding of current accounting standards and regulations.
* Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* SAP experience advantageous.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Proactive, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
