Qualified Actuary wanted for Global Life Reinsurance Group-Cayman Islands
Abrivia Recruitment has been exclusively retained to recruit for our client, a leading Global Life Reinsurance provider with entities in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda. Our client is an established player in the Life and Annuity Reinsurance market, focusing on innovative solutions and long-term value creation. They specialise in managing complex Insurance risks, particularly within the Variable Annuity space.
This role represents an exceptional opportunity for a Qualified Actuary with specific experience in Variable Annuities to join a dynamic team in a highly attractive, tax-free location.
Your Role:
* Lead the modelling, analysis, and pricing of variable annuity reinsurance transactions.
* Conduct detailed risk assessments to support new business development.
* Develop, review, and enhance actuarial models to provide accurate forecasting and analysis.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams in finance, underwriting, and investments to optimise the company’s portfolio and support decision-making.
* Manage valuation and reserving processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal reporting standards.
* Provide expert advice on risk management, capital optimisation, and profitability of the business portfolio.
* Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging risks, and opportunities within the life reinsurance sector, particularly in the annuity market.
Your Skills:
* Qualified Actuary
* 2+ years of experience in life insurance or reinsurance, with a focus on Variable Annuities.
* Strong analytical, modelling, and valuation skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
* Proficiency in actuarial software and advanced Excel skills.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to engage effectively with both internal and external parties.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a solutions-focused mindset.
