About the role:
EHS International is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to support our esteemed client in their HQ. This role will act as the primary point of contact for health and safety across designated office and business unit sites.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of employees, contractors, and visitors by embedding a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the dedicated health & safety advisor for Corporate Centre and HQ functions.
* Build trusted relationships with senior leaders and managers across corporate teams.
* Partner with managers to reduce accident and incident rates, improving overall safety performance.
* Support the Head of Group Safety in maintaining ISO 45001 certification and delivering the company's health & safety strategy.
* Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments across assigned locations.
* Develop and document safe work procedures.
* Lead emergency preparedness and response measures at HQ and associated sites.
* Participate in safety committees as a trusted advisor.
* Prepare timely and accurate safety reports for internal stakeholders and regulators.
* Investigate accidents and incidents, recommending corrective and preventive actions.
* Provide safety input into procurement and new business processes.
* Collaborate with regional safety colleagues to maintain consistent practices.
* Promote a proactive safety culture aligned with organisational values.
Requirements:
Experience & Knowledge
* Minimum of 4 years' experience in a Safety Advisor, Officer, or Specialist role.
* Multi-site experience advantageous.
* NFQ Level 8 qualification (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety required.
* Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline desirable.
* Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety law.
* Familiarity with consultation and safety representative processes.
* ADR/IMDG/ICAO qualifications an advantage.
* Experience with ISO-accredited systems.
Skills & Competencies
* Strong technical expertise in health & safety.
* Ability to influence, mentor, and engage stakeholders.
* Sound judgement, decision-making, and critical thinking.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Additional
* ISO 45001 audit qualification desirable.
* Flexible, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
* Willingness to travel between sites as required.
* Full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle.
