They will create policies and procedures which help maintain a safe work environment for company employees and will deliver relevant health and safety training to staff.The successful candidate will:Develop, maintain and monitor work processes, policies and procedures to identify unsafe practices or breach of safety regulationsMonitor and assess situations that develop in the workplace and assess the safety of internal and external stakeholdersConduct office and equipment inspection to ensure they are correctly installed and operationalCreate all safety documentation with assistance from the Corporate Services department in developing safety plans, office audits and safety trainingFacilitate and schedule repairs of unsafe or damaged equipmentOrganise and carry-out internal health and safety training to educate staff on necessary safety principles and proceduresOrganise any external health and safety training required to educate staff on necessary safety principles and procedures, including but not limited to lone working, manual handling etcCarry out investigations to identify the root cause of an incident or other unsafe conditions on a work siteOversee the placement and setup of safety signs to warn of potential hazardsPrepare and present reports of safety operations to Senior Management as required and prepare presentations as required for both internal and external useCollaborate with external bodies and investigators to address cases of workplace accidentsOffer recommendations on safety topics such as proper waste disposal, fire regulations, and noiseConduct risk assessments to identify work areas with high risk of operational hazardOversee company waste disposal methods to ensure they comply with safe disposal proceduresReview Tuath's operational processes to ensure they are in line with external safety legislationsAttend occupational safety and health trainings as requiredOrganise drills for members of staff to train them on the appropriate response in case of an emergencyEngage with industry to ensure effective horizon scanning and continuous improvementsRequirements:At least 3 years' experience in an office-based health and safety managerial roleRelevant third-level qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Facilities Management or other related discipline (Desirable)Strong knowledge of Health and Safety Regulatory and Legal FrameworkExperience of training delivery and evaluationAbility to prepare policies and Health & Safety StatementsExperience of working with the public in a customer-oriented environmentExcellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a team and independentlyGood organisational and time-management skillsTo participate on forums/working groups/committees as requiredPromote a culture which is supportive of excellent service delivery and meets Tuath Housing's vision, mission, and values
