The role of a Senior Electrician involves the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical control systems for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Main Responsibilities:
* System Installation: Ensuring that electrical control systems are installed correctly for water and wastewater infrastructure.
* Commissioning and Testing: Verifying that electrical control systems function as expected by testing and commissioning them.
* Maintenance: Conducting regular preventative and reactive maintenance on electrical systems within the Service Division.
Other key tasks include electrical design and supervision work on water, wastewater pumping and treatment installations with instrumentation and controls. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist as Electrical Supervisor on large projects where additional support is required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A minimum of 5 years post-apprenticeship work experience in the water or wastewater treatment industry or contracting, pumps, instrumentation, automation, and SCADA.
* Good knowledge of electrical control systems and fault finding techniques.
* Working knowledge of PLCs and general automation.
The ideal candidate will have some Waste Water Treatment Plant and Water treatment plant experience, along with relevant qualifications such as RECI or equivalent certified electrician with 5 years post-apprenticeship work experience.
