Role Purpose
This role leads Life Credit Union’s digital transformation, systems oversight, and IT strategy. It is central to delivering a modern, resilient, and member‑focused technology environment. The Head of Systems, IT & Digital Transformation will drive innovation, manage key technology partnerships, and ensure systems and data are leveraged to improve member experience and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a digital strategy aligned with LCU’s strategic plan.
* Champion innovation and continuous improvement across member‑facing and internal systems.
* Collaborate with senior leaders to identify and implement technology‑led solutions.
* Ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of core systems, applications and infrastructure.
* Manage relationships with third‑party IT providers and hold them accountable for service delivery.
* Lead operational resilience efforts, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
* Develop and manage the multi‑year ICT budget, ensuring expenditure does not exceed agreed levels.
* Drive automation and digitisation of member and staff processes.
* Identify and implement tools that enhance service and efficiency.
* Support staff training and change management to embed digital capabilities.
* Oversee data quality and usage to support strategic decision‑making.
* Work with internal and external analysts to unlock insights and identify growth opportunities.
* Lead key digital and IT projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
* Monitor progress, manage risks, and report on outcomes to senior stakeholders.
* Build and lead the Systems & IT team.
* Contribute to strategic planning and provide regular updates to the Board and committees.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and governance standards.
* Develop and manage IT‑related policies.
* To undertake ad hoc duties as agreed with the CEO.

Experience Required
* Previous experience in a leadership role within IT, digital transformation, or systems management—ideally in a regulated financial services environment.
* Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, digital services and cybersecurity.
* Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements.
* Demonstrated success in leading cross‑functional digital transformation projects, including automation, CRM, and member‑facing technologies.
* Experience managing third‑party IT vendors and service providers, including contract negotiation and performance oversight.
* Strong background in systems and infrastructure oversight, including operational resilience, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
* Familiarity with data management and analytics, including using data to drive member engagement and business growth.
* Track record of strategic planning and execution, aligning technology initiatives with organisational goals.
* Experience in budget management, team leadership, and performance development.
* Strong communication and leadership with the ability to influence across the organisation, including senior stakeholders, i.e. boards and regulatory bodies.
