This role is pivotal in maintaining a secure, resilient, and compliant compute environment across a large multi-site campus. You'll support 1,000+ users, collaborate with global IT teams, manage vendors, and drive infrastructure stability, security, and performance.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Maintain stability, operational performance, and resilience of compute environments across the Cork campus, minimising downtime and incidents.

2. Oversee security posture, including patching, antivirus tools, and compliance with global standards.

3. Coordinate disaster recovery testing and support SQL environments across the site.

4. Support global security initiatives and ensure required controls testing is completed.

5. Engage with managed service providers and third-party vendors covering compute, SQL, and manufacturing systems.

6. Participate in compute and network infrastructure projects and collaborate with cross-functional technical teams.

7. Track and report compute spend, working with finance and IT leadership on budgeting and trend analysis.

8. Communicate security metrics and influence stakeholders to follow IT best practice.

9. Manage maintenance contract renewals, proposals, quotations, and vendor troubleshooting efforts.

Your Qualifications & Experience:

10. 5+ years' experience in compute-focused IT operations.

11. Strong technical knowledge across Compute, Network, Security, and Workplace Services.

12. Proven experience working with multiple internal teams and external vendors.

13. Degree/Masters in a related discipline or equivalent industry experience.

14. Certifications in areas such as Microsoft Windows OS, MS SQL, VMware, Cisco, Azure/Cloud.

15. Minimum five years' Workplace Services exposure. (Desirable)

16. Strong stakeholder and vendor management capability.

17. Experience supporting executives and senior leadership.

18. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

19. Proven end-to-end ownership of problem-solving and solution delivery.

20. Ability to influence across functions and communicate across organizational levels.

21. Knowledge of teleconferencing technologies and broad IT/OT integration understanding.

22. Awareness of IT governance practices and enterprise priorities.

23. Prior experience with some or all of the following is highly advantageous:

SAN storage, backup appliances (Rubrik, Veritas), tape libraries

ESXi hosts, VMware environments

Cisco switches, Cisco ISE

Active Directory, Group Policy

RDS/Citrix, Symantec, WSUS, BigFix

Patching & vulnerability management

Database management

ServiceNow, change/problem/incident management

Vendor access management
