Overview
The Patient Engagement Capabilities group focuses on strategy and execution for clinical trial participant enrollment and retention, including dynamic, patient-facing communications for recruitment and retention and health literacy optimized content strategies.
The Visual Communication Designer will produce engaging patient communication in graphical and multimedia formats, delivering visually appealing layouts of clinical trial patient-facing content across multiple platforms.
The Multi-Media Designer will work with the Health Literacy Content team and BU molecule teams to realize dynamic content visions.
The designer should anticipate problems, interface with Lilly partners, and integrate new processes as needed.
This fast-paced role puts a candidate at the cutting edge of modern technology and patient communications to deliver the right information to the right patient at the right time to improve the participant experience.

Primary Responsibilities
Produce patient-facing clinical trial materials in an engaging, health-literacy-optimized format.
Use graphic and multimedia tools to dynamically present accurate, patient-focused information to help individuals decide about joining a trial and to stay informed during the trial.
Incorporate feedback into graphics and leverage templates to create visually appealing content.
Apply layout changes based on team input and feedback.
Create and deliver recording, editing, and encoding of audio files.
Create and edit digital content (static images, infographics; videos including interactive, animations, motion graphics; and interactive webpages) as defined by project owners.
Follow Lilly Health Literacy playbook practices and help develop a future state style guide for patient-facing communications.
Produce dynamic content for internal Health Literacy team materials and presentations as needed.
Understand and implement visual design principles of health literacy.
Operational Excellence
Collaborate with the team to understand creative content needs of internal partners.
Coordinate with other content creators to obtain asset permissions and upload finished files to the asset management database.
Establish and maintain templates to align with business standards.
Lead the development of storyboards.
Ensure documents comply with project briefs and Lilly policies, including Brand Book and Design System.
Follow review processes prior to final production and benchmark opportunities to improve processes.
Recommend formats and provide expertise in health-literacy optimized templates.
Perform other document tasks as needed.
Client Management
Manage timelines and capacity, coordinating with team members across multiple time zones.
Educate teams on project status.
Anticipate and resolve project-related issues; escalate when appropriate.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and create new ones where required.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, visual communications, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
3+ years of experience in medical or health media/content development.
1-3 years of pharma or work experience in a regulated industry.
In-depth knowledge of design software such as InVision, Graphpad, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, and Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated experience building content with media authoring tools (e.g. Vyond/GoAnimate, Premiere, Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia).
Other Information/Additional Preferences
High attention to detail and strong English-language skills.
Experience and interest in health literacy visual design.
Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency with graphics programs and PowerPoint.
Creativity to conceive new approaches and unique designs.
Willingness to take on additional duties as needed.

Strong organizational skills and effective communication.
Ability to work under pressure, respond to feedback, and maintain a positive attitude.
