Position Description We are seeking a talented Geospatial / Engineer with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience. The ideal candidate will focus on route selection, drafting, production of planning and construction packages, and surveying of underground cable linear assets. In support of ESB's strategic objectives of decarbonising electricity, building resilient infrastructure, and empowering clients, you will collaborate with our team to design underground cable solutions for ESB Networks and other clients on high voltage transmission and distribution projects. Key Responsibilities Provide surveying and drafting services, including the preparation of route drawings, maps, and as-laid records for cable projects. Conduct route selection for cable projects and feasibility studies, supporting the project team in overall route development and design. Offer support services for engagement and consultation with clients, local authorities, landowners, statutory bodies, and stakeholders. Undertake design work, including cable pulling tension calculations and compiling cable material quantities. Perform site inspections during certain construction activities. Experience and Qualifications Essential Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation and MS Office. Skilled in using surveying equipment. Hold a full driving licence and have appropriate access to a car for travel. Ability to meet deadlines, manage priorities, and work on your own initiative. Strong teamwork skills and active participation in achieving the team's targets. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Desirable Knowledge of ArcGIS or other GIS systems. Experience in hydrographic surveying services, including monitoring and interpretation of bathymetric surveys. Experience in utility surveys and design of linear assets. 3D CAD proficiency. Reporting To Team Leader HV Cables, ESB Engineering & Major Projects Location This position will be based in One Dublin Airport Central or Eastgate, Cork.
