This post involves working in a Children's Residential Respite House with both full‑time and part‑time hours available.
Key Responsibilities
Provide person‑centred care to children with disabilities, supporting their physical, emotional and social needs.
Assist the management team with day‑to‑day operations, including staff supervision and service delivery.
Develop and implement individual support plans and short break passports tailored to each child’s needs.
Support the development and implementation of positive behaviour support plans for children attending respite services.
Foster positive relationships with children, families and staff, promoting open communication and collaboration.
Support children in recreational, social and therapeutic activities that encourage development and inclusion.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, HIQA standards and other regulatory requirements.
Contribute to staff training, mentorship and team development.
Qualifications
A QQI Accredited Diploma/Degree in Social Care or a qualification in Nursing (RNID).
Eligibility for registration under the standards of proficiency for CORU registration (www.coru.ie/social‑care‑workers).
Experience in managing behaviour which challenges.
Experience with adults/children with intellectual disabilities.
Ability to work on own initiative and supervise service users/staff in a residential setting.
Full Driver’s Licence (Desirable).
