MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER Our client, a major player in the engineering and industrial manufacturing sector, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their established design team in Cavan. This is a full-time, permanent role ideal for someone with strong 3D design experience and an interest in supporting product innovation and manufacturing processes. COMPANY: Our client is a well-established engineering manufacturer that supplies high-quality industrial components to global markets, with a strong presence in infrastructure, energy, and utility sectors. THE ROLE: The Cavan-based Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for: Designing custom components and assemblies for industrial products using 3D CAD software (Creo preferred; SolidWorks users also considered). Working closely with electrical design engineers and the manufacturing team to finalise mechanical layouts for production. Creating and updating detailed technical drawings, BOMs, and design documentation. Supporting product development, design changes, and innovation initiatives. Assisting in inventory management (raw materials, tools, machinery) related to product builds. Communicating clearly with shop floor teams to ensure design intent is fully understood. THE PERSON: Our client is looking for candidates who: Hold a relevant degree or higher-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Have strong 3D CAD design experience-ideally with Creo, but SolidWorks experience is also welcome. Possess a good understanding of manufacturing processes, metal fabrication, or mechanical assemblies. Are excellent communicators, comfortable working cross-functionally with design and production teams. Are proactive, detail-focused, and eager to develop their skills in a growing engineering team.
