Our focus is centred on delivering what our customers, colleagues and communities need to be successful.As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for all technical aspects as they relate to the specific team to which you are assigned, including providing support and guidance for technical changes, researching new and emerging technologies, and assessing how they can influence and drive the technology direction for the team. This specialist role will ensure there is a central point of contact and consistency for the design approach of all projects and will work closely with project teams to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and best in class, meeting key commercial and strategic initiatives of the bank.ResponsibilitiesSupport analysis of business requirements from a technical point of view and drive the technical direction of the project that best supports the business requirements and overall IT architecture and strategyInterpret business requirements to deliver functional specifications to support delivery of IT solutionsDeliver technical specifications in line with design standards that detail the technical solutions to be implemented and supported on Bank IT systemsComplete development assignments such that programs support the approved project requirements and follow the agreed Functional and Technical DesignDeliver assignments to agreed quality standards and to the project standards and procedures employed in the departmentConduct design and code reviews; comfortable in conducting QA reviews of development tasks and coded solutionsRequirementsAbility to contribute strongly to a highly motivated team working to tight deadlines and to work on own initiativeProven design and development experience in any of: Java, Delphi, Ingres applicationsStrong analytical, design and development skills with a clear understanding of all aspects of the development lifecycleExcellent communication skills - effective verbal and written communication of both technical and business natureEffective interpersonal and teamwork skillsExcellent self-starter with drive and resilience to take initiative in a demanding environment; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesProfessional in adhering to IT standards and policies with a positive can-do attitudeAbility to focus on the customer and deliver to deadlinesHigh levels of leadership, dependability, flexibility, enthusiasm, commitment, supportiveness, involvement, openness and clarityExcellent technical acumen and problem solving skillsAbility to learn and understand complex business and IT systems and processesBusiness & CustomerAbility to focus on the customer and deliver to deadlinesContribute to the Bank IT goals of Quality Delivery, Efficiency, Innovation, Continuous Improvement and Customer serviceMaintain ongoing communication with the business to ensure supply and demand issues are completed in line with agreed standardsSupport the business in the development of new initiativesRisk & ControlEnsure that risks are identified and addressed proactively and all work practices and processes are fully compliant with company policies and regulatory requirementsThis is a permanent role based in Dublin (Hybrid).Is this you?Please apply online on our website or via the apply link of this role.
