Principal Objective of Position:
In this impactful role within our dynamic finance team, you will report to the Head of Finance, Control & Reporting. Working closely with the Head of Finance, you will contribute to the preparation of financial data for internal and external reporting, while actively supporting the refinement of operational processes across the organisation. This position presents a unique opportunity for you to broaden your scope by becoming a contributor in driving our finance initiatives forward.
Role Purpose
As Ireland continues its low-carbon transition, Certa is expanding its sustainable fuels team to grow the market for Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO)—a cleaner, drop-in diesel alternative. We're looking for a mission-driven individual to join us as a Sustainability & Innovation Lead – Renewable Fuels, with a strong focus on environmental impact, certification compliance, and sector engagement, and the ability to support commercial growth through sustainability-led sales.
This is not a traditional sales role — it's about building trust, educating decision-makers, and helping businesses take meaningful steps toward decarbonisation using HVO.
Key Responsibilities
Certification & Compliance
* Manage the monthly reporting and compliance audits.
* Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to maintain robust sustainability records.
* Stay up to date on relevant schemes and legislation affecting HVO and other renewable fuels.
Sustainability
* Lead the collection, tracking, and reporting of carbon savings and Scope 1/3 reductions for HVO customers.
* Support key clients in aligning HVO usage with their Net Zero and ESG targets.
* Contribute to the delivery of Certa's 3-year HVO strategy, with a focus on measurable environmental impact.
Sector Engagement & Advocacy
* Identify and engage niche sectors where HVO will reduce carbon emissions
* Represent Certa at trade shows, sustainability forums, and client meetings, advocating for the adoption of low-carbon fuels.
* Lead internal training sessions such as "HVO Power Hour" to support sustainability knowledge across teams.
Sustainability-Led Sales & Commercial Support
* Support the identification, targeting, and onboarding of new HVO customers, particularly in sectors prioritising carbon reduction.
* Assist with preparing proposals, tenders, and sustainability performance reports for client presentations.
* Help manage a portfolio of key clients, ensuring regular engagement, progress tracking, and value communication.
* Contribute to revenue and volume growth targets through solution-driven sales rooted in climate performance and compliance needs.
Education & Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Energy, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
* 2+ years' experience in a sustainability, energy, fuels, or commercial operations role is preferred.
* Familiarity with carbon accounting frameworks (GHG Protocol), lifecycle analysis, or emissions reporting.
* Experience supporting commercial teams, engaging with B2B clients, or contributing to tender preparation.
* Strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; CRM or dashboard experience is a plus.
