Job Summary:
Civil Engineer - Site Operations Specialist
As a specialist in civil engineering project delivery, this role is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of site operations, from health and safety to quality assurance. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience working on civil engineering projects, with expertise in groundworks and modern surveying techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
• Promote and implement best practices in collaboration with the SHQE department to ensure compliance with safety policies and standards.
• Apply precise setting-out techniques using total stations and other surveying tools to review and resolve discrepancies in drawings and specifications.
• Conduct quality checks to align with company and project standards, completing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance.
Team Coordination and Development:
The successful candidate will communicate project requirements clearly to foremen and supervisors, mentoring and supporting the growth of assistant, graduate, and junior engineers. This includes drafting risk assessments and method statements for work processes, coordinating with the commercial team on potential contractual impacts, and managing material and equipment requisitions efficiently.
Temporary Works and Client Engagement:
This role involves assisting in designing temporary works schemes as needed and building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, designers, and the supply chain. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and problem-solving skills, proven ability to implement and manage safe construction practices, and familiarity with the commercial aspects of large-scale construction projects.
