Senior Construction Project Manager Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Construction Project Manager to join our team at Team Horizon in Cork city. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects and will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the preparation of comprehensive project briefs in consultation with organisational service personnel and advisors.
* Ensure that the project brief is known and understood by all stakeholders.
* Comply with all regulatory requirements including permission, licenses, certificates, and approvals.
* Act as senior administrative officer for the management of the project.
* Define requirements for design services, buildings, and equipment.
* Advising on the selection of Design Teams, other professional services, and Contractors for Projects.
* Arrange and manage procurement processes.
* Develop proposals with selected design teams and contractors.
* Develop action plans for the timely and efficient completion of contracts.
* Co-ordinate tender and control stages of the project.
* Supervise staff and contractors in the implementation of agreed programmes.
* Work with service management and ancillary services to ensure effective support for equipping and commissioning teams.
* Manage and control agreed project timescales and budgets.
* Anticipate difficulties and problems and resolve them directly or bring them to the attention of the Engineering Manager and Engineering Director.
* Manage and control expenditure on each assigned project.
* Prepare presentations for senior management and Project Board as required.
* Check design team fees accounts and prepare same for certification by the Engineering Manager.
* Process payments to contractors and design team firms in accordance with contract documents and statutory provisions.
Requirements:
* A Level 8 (or higher) Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) major academic award in Architecture, Engineering, or Surveying accredited by the relevant Professional Institute.
* Full Membership of the relevant professional association: Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Engineers Ireland, or Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland.
* At least seven years of satisfactory and relevant experience in planning, design, project management, or construction of buildings or in the installation or maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and heating services of such buildings.
