Position Summary : Bentley Systems is seeking a Privacy Counsel with a global outlook to join our growing Corporate Responsibility team within the Law and Corporate Advancement organization.
Reporting to the Global Data Protection Officer in Dublin, this role will help shape Bentley's evolving approach to digital regulation; spanning privacy, data protection, AI, and cyber.
We're seeking a motivated, adaptive, and business-minded privacy expert to counsel business partners, support our global compliance programs, and support the growth and development of the Corporate Responsibility team.
Responsibilities Provide day-to-day legal counsel on global privacy, data protection, and digital regulation matters.
Draft and negotiate privacy, data protection, security, and AI-related terms in commercial contracts and disclosures.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders—including Legal, Product, Marketing, and IT, to advise on new and emerging digital regulations affecting software and cloud services.
Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of Bentley's global privacy and AI compliance programs, policies, and documentation.
Contribute to awareness and training initiatives that promote a culture of responsible data use across the company.
Mentor and guide other team members with the scope to move into a people management role as the team grows to support the business.
Stay informed of global developments in data protection, AI, and digital compliance to proactively advise the business.
Qualifications Qualified lawyer with 3+ years of post-qualification experience in privacy and security (experience range is a guide and we will consider strong candidates with less or more experience ).
Proven expertise in EU and US data protection law and familiarity with global compliance frameworks.
Strong understanding of SaaS, cloud services, marketing and analytics laws, and regulations.
Excellent negotiation and drafting skills with the confidence to represent Bentley in matters relating to data privacy, AI, and security.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across legal and business teams.
Highly responsive, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
Desired Skills In-house or hybrid (private + in-house) experience preferred.
CIPP or other privacy-specific certifications a plus.
